Fen’s enjoying settling into married life with Joel in their new house. Despite getting their happily ever after, there’s still a shadow darkening Fen’s soul. But between taking up a new hobby, a weekend getaway to visit his bestie, and a drunken pole-dancing contest to keep him busy, there’s also the unsettled matter of his ghost…
Joel never thought life could ever be so sweet or perfect. As far as he’s concerned, they don’t need to change a damn thing about their relationship. Although Fen’s belief in a ghost is a little spooky, it’s just another day living with the most perfect man he could have ever hoped to marry.
Except emotions can sometimes run high and out of control. When Joel is forced to confront Fen’s demon head-on, will he exorcise his sweet hubby’s pain for good, or will it damage their fragile new marriage beyond repair?

Author’s Note
This is book 79 in the Suncoast Society series.
Joel and Fenton first appeared in Reconsider Me, and this book picks up where that one leaves off. June and Scrye have appeared in several books, but their feature book is Walk Between the Raindrops.
Look for Mads’ feature story, Searching for a Heart.
Some of the characters in this book appear in or are featured in previous books in the Suncoast Society series. While most of the books in the Suncoast Society series are standalone works which may be read independently of each other, the recommended reading order to avoid spoilers and to not miss any backstory—along with character information and related trivia—can be found on the Suncoast Society series page on my website at:

Chapter One
“Okay, I’m out,” one woman muttered.
June laughed. “You don’t have to attempt one of those. Fen’s been doing this for a while.”
I’m a trained professional.
Fenton Burch closed his eyes and breathed as he relaxed into Sirsa Padasana, a backward feet-to-head backbend pose it’d taken him the better part of a month to finally achieve when he’d first attempted it.
The rest of the class was currently following June into variations of Ustrasana, a backbend done while sitting up on the knees, and far easier for a beginner to hold.
He hadn’t been able to get to class for over a week now, between getting moved into their new house and because of a project he’d been putting overtime into at work. This Thursday afternoon he’d left early as a result, and the only yoga class June had going right now was a beginner’s class.
He took it.
Fen also did yoga at home to unwind, but it was different doing it there than in class. He could, ironically, unplug more easily when in the studio, during a class.
Fewer familiar distractions, like stopping to check if he’d added an item to their shopping list, or was the laundry ready to switch from the washer to the dryer, or…or…or…
Plus he liked having the immediate feedback from June, keeping him from slipping into sloppy poses.
While everyone else followed June into Balasana, Fen rolled himself backward into Kapotasana, another backbend position. Wasn’t exactly the best pose to move into from the previous one, but it earned him a laugh from June.
“Now you’re just showing off, you brat.”
He smiled, knowing the way she meant it, too, even if the other students didn’t get the double entendre. “Flaunt it if you got it.” June was probably one of very few people who did yoga in that studio who could also hold that pose.
Fortunately, the other five students—all middle-aged women—had great senses of humor and more than a little bit of the vanilla kind of pervy interest in watching him. He knew what they saw—twenty-seven, five-nine and slender, with sinewy, lithe muscles visible under his close-fitting tank top and shorts, muscles people usually didn’t see under the khakis and button-up shirts he wore to work. Not a bad-looking guy, if he did say so himself.
Since his Sir thought he was a cutie—and Fen defaulted to the motto that Sir was nearly
always right about everything—he’d go with it.
He didn’t mind them watching him. He was gay and married, not dead, and he wouldn’t deny he enjoyed the attention more than a little. Not exactly an exhibitionist, but close enough to one to be shaking hands with the definition.
The other problem he had doing yoga at home, if Joel was home, was that it usually quickly turned into them having sex. Only three weeks since their wedding and collaring, and two weeks since moving into their new home, and Joel was bound and determined to fuck Fen everywhere in their new house, especially on every horizontal surface—and even a few vertical ones—as frequently as possible.
Not that Fen was complaining, because he dang sure wasn’t.
It just made it hard for him to do yoga with him…hard.
By the time the class ended, he was struggling to hold back a semi-chub—both from thinking about the things Joel had done to him last night when Fen had tried doing yoga at home, and from the appreciative glances the other women were giving him over his form.
And how he knew what kind of hungry gaze Joel would be wearing if it were him watching Fen right now.
As the other students filed out of the studio and Fen was doing a few last stretches to finish cooling down, June’s husband, Scrye, walked in.
“Hey, what are you doing here?” Fen asked.
He smiled. “I’m the retrofit crew.”
“Retrofit?”
June wore a playful smirk. “Wait until you see this.” She led Fen from that studio space, down a hallway, and into a smaller dance studio area, where a new doorway had recently been added.
“What’s this?”
“We expanded and took over the unit next door.” She opened the door and ushered him through.
Inside looked like a dance studio, including new flooring and mirrors, but there were regularly spaced mounts on the floor, and…
Fen squinted, everything looking a little fuzzy without his glasses. “Are those what I think they are?” He walked over to where about a dozen long metal poles were lying along the wall on one end of the room, wrapped in protective tarps.
“Yep,” Scrye said. “Pole dancing studio.” He grinned and clapped his hands together, vigorously rubbing them together. “I might have to start working here again, helping them man the counter or something, when she’s teaching these.”
Fen turned to June. “You’ve been holding out on me,” he playfully scolded.
“You should see the bruises and pole burn I earned from learning it. May and I and two of the other instructors have been taking lessons for months. We’re going to start by teaching basic classes and work our way up. Also do things like hold bachelorette parties. They’re very popular up in Tampa. We’ll eventually have different levels of classes. Regular pole fitness classes, dance classes, advanced classes, sexy classes, all of that. Didn’t really have a good permanent studio here, though, where we could install the poles. There aren’t any other large studios offering this in our area. We think it’s going to be a real hit.”
“Wow. I’d like to try that at least once.”
She smiled. “I had thought about asking you if you’d like some free lessons so I could use you as a demo doll. You always pick up stuff so quickly, and I bet you have the core strength to do it, too. You have time to hang around? He’ll have the first one up in a few minutes.”
“Sure.”
Fen helped Scrye steady the first pole while Scrye climbed a ladder and got it mounted and secured to the ceiling, then the floor. Then they stood back and watched June test it. She smiled, held the pole with her right hand, took a couple of steps, and gracefully swung around the pole, sliding down it as she did.
Scrye let out a whistle. “Damn, baby. That’s even hotter than I remember.” He glanced around and dropped his voice. “Daddy’s going to need a private demo from you later after you lock up for the night.”
She grinned. “Right?” She looked at Fen. “Want to try? That’s a basic move, called a fireman.”
“Sure.” He handed Scrye his phone. “Here, film this for me, please? Sir will want to see this.”
Scrye chuckled. “I’d just bet he will.”
“Take your top off for this,” June said. “You want as much skin exposed as possible. Makes it easier to stick to the pole…”
June demonstrated the move for him again, then showed him how and where to grip the pole, how to kick out and use his momentum to carry him around it. It took him a few tries, but once he stopped fighting what his body naturally wanted to do in terms of the spin, he finally got it, earning him cheers from June and Scrye.
“Just be careful not to wear lotion or anything like that before a class,” she warned. “You want your skin to stick to the pole.”
“Can you show me some more moves?”
“Sure. How about you help Scrye anchor another pole, and we can do them together?”
“Cool!”
That’s how, an hour later, Fen was performing a short routine to “Monster” by Imagine Dragons, a song June already had queued up for a gymnastics routine for one of their other classes. June’s older sister, May, joined them during the process and also watched while Scrye recorded it for Fen on his phone.
“Damn,” Scrye said as the four of them huddled together and watched the replay on Fen’s phone once Fen had retrieved his glasses. “I’m completely straight, and you got me fricking hot watching that.”
“Sweet baby jeebus,” May said. “That was amazing!”
Fen blushed and nudged his glasses up his nose. “Thanks. You think Joel will like it?”
June giggled, then seemed to remember vanilla sister May was standing right there. “I know your husband. He’s going to watch it on loop while he boinks your adorable brains out, buddy. Would you mind if we used that as a promo video on our website for the beginner classes?”
“Sure. I’ll upload it to Dropbox when I get home and send you the link.”
“Thanks,” May said. “Man, I tell you what, this is going to be huge. June got tired of teaching the kids’ gymnastics classes, and I can’t blame her. This is a lot more fun.”
“He’ll need a dance belt,” Scrye said. “At least he didn’t flash the goodies.”
“A what?” Fen asked.
June smiled. “Sort of like a padded jockstrap. It’s for guys to stay, eh, tucked in. Prevent wardrobe malfunctions. It’ll also help keep you from smashing your junk into the pole.”
Fen winced at that thought. “Ouch.”
“Yeah. We have some for sale over in the lobby. He’s right. You probably will want one.”
The garment, for lack of a better word, was beige, and looked exactly like they’d described. He bought two just to be safe. He wore snug trunk-style briefs under his yoga pants to keep everything contained for class, but this activity wasn’t slow-motion yoga. Fen gathered his stuff and headed out. After a stop by the grocery store, he made it home before Joel and opted to hold off on a shower until his husband joined him.
Tonight he was making stew. Once he had it ready, he left it simmering on the stove because Joel would be home any minute.
With that done, he broadcasted the video from his phone to their big TV in the living room to watch.
No, it wasn’t bad at all, actually. Sure, he was a little clumsier than June was, which made sense. But…
Damn.
He was watching it for the second time when he heard the front door open. Fen grinned as he reset the video.
“I’m home,” Joel called out.
“In here, Master.”
Joel walked into the living room. When he caught sight of Fen on the TV screen, his brow furrowed. “What’s that?”
“I told you I was stopping by June’s studio for a yoga class.”
“Yeah?”
“They’ve added something new. Watch.”
He hit play and silently giggled as Joel’s eyes widened. “Holy fuck,” he muttered, pulling Fen in for a hard, deep kiss. “Goddam
n, that’s hot!”
“I take it you won’t mind if I take more classes?”
“Only if you promise to film them. Play it again.”
He did, Joel grabbing him and pulling him close, holding Fen’s back against his larger body, his hard cock grinding against Fen’s ass through their clothes.
Joel kissed his way down the side of Fen’s neck. “Hope you were planning on joining me in the shower, because you are joining me in the shower. And by shower I mean fucking.” Joel’s sexy Alabama Southern drawl always revved Fen’s motor.
Fen rocked his ass against Joel. “Yes, Sir.”
At a beefy six-three, Joel easily swept Fen into his arms and carried him to their master bedroom. This man was his life. Fen had never known how good sex could be until the two of them met.
Joel wasn’t just his Master and husband, but his soulmate, the love of his life.
The first man Fen completely trusted with his heart and his body.
The first man he’d been with who’d kept his word to Fen.
The only man he’d ever killed for.
Chapter Two
Joel’s cock twitched as he carried his delicious hubby through the house. His original plan had been to make it through dinner before tackling him, but that plan went out the window after watching that video of him.
Fen was one sexy, bendy boy.
And Fen was allll his.
Every essential-oil-diffusing, yoga-doing, Broadway-show-tune-singing, cast-iron-skillet-swinging ounce of him.
Joel wouldn’t have him any other way or change a damn thing about him, either.
Not even that one hard limit of Fen’s.
Their sex life was far from boring, even without anal sex being part of the buffet.
